The Grit Counter

There’s nothing more Southern than a bowl of grits – and nothing more fun than a Grit Bowl! Established in April 2018 as a fast-casual spinoff of Grace & Grit in Mount Pleasant, SC, this little lunch counter has grown into its own, and is expanding to a second location next to the North Charleston Coliseum!   Locally owned and operated by the same folks of Grace & Grit, The Grit Counter has proven to be a hit with guests since the beginning, introducing “The Original Grit Bowl” – a creative + fun way to enjoy your grits.  

With Chef Craig Duquette at the helm and focused on the new North Charleston location, and Chef Jake Portugal at The Grit Counter in Mount Pleasant, prepare yourself for cleverly crafted grit bowl specials and quality food in a quick-casual, yet warm and inviting, atmosphere. “We really want y’all to be excited about what you’re eating.  We want you to have fun but know you’re getting quality ingredients and made-to-order food all in a comfortable atmosphere”, says chef/owner Frank Kline.
